About the PDF to PowerPoint

Turn a PDF into a PowerPoint presentation with one slide per page, ready to present, reorder or add your own slides to. Each slide shows the page exactly as it looks, and the page's text goes into the speaker notes.

Everything happens in your browser. The PDF isn't uploaded.

How it works

Every page is drawn as a sharp picture and placed on its own slide, so fonts, charts and layout look the same as in the PDF on any computer. The slide size follows the shape of the first page, so A4, Letter or 16:9 pages fill the slide.

The words on each page are copied into that slide's speaker notes, where you can read, copy or search them while presenting. The slide itself is a picture, so its text can't be edited in PowerPoint.

Assumptions and limits

  • Slides are pictures of the pages: you can present them, reorder them and draw or type over them, but not edit the original text.
  • Up to 300 pages and 100 MB. Use High quality for large screens; Standard keeps the file smaller.
  • Pages with a different shape from the first page are fitted and centred on the slide.

Worked examples

Present a report

A 12-page PDF report becomes 12 slides. Open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote and present it full screen, with each page's text in the notes.

Add your own slides

Convert the PDF, then add a title slide and a questions slide around it in PowerPoint.

A landscape handout

A landscape A4 PDF gives landscape slides with the same shape, so nothing is cropped.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the text on the slides?

No. Each slide shows the page as a picture, which keeps the layout exactly right but means the text isn't editable. The page's text is in the speaker notes, where you can copy it into new text boxes.

Will it look the same as the PDF?

Yes. Pages are drawn as pictures, so fonts, colours, charts and layout look the same on any computer, even if it doesn't have the fonts the PDF used.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The pages are drawn and the presentation is written by your browser, on your own device. Nothing from the PDF is sent to our server, so it stays private.

Which apps can open the file?

The download is a standard .pptx file, so it opens in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote and LibreOffice Impress on a computer, tablet or phone.

Why is the file large?

Each slide holds a picture of a whole page. Choose Standard quality for a smaller file, or compress the PDF first if it has many image-heavy pages.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. What you enter or upload stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
