Question 1

Should slugs include stop words (the, a, in)?

Accepted Answer

It depends on context. For SEO, include keywords but you can omit stop words for shorter URLs. 'best-laptops-for-students' is cleaner than 'the-best-laptops-for-students' but both are valid.

Question 2

What about non-English characters in slugs?

Accepted Answer

Non-ASCII characters (é, ñ, ü, ض) should be transliterated or removed. This tool removes them. For better internationalization, use a transliteration library that converts é→e, ñ→n, etc.
