Question 1

What is the difference between percentage change and percentage difference?

Accepted Answer

Percentage change compares a new value to an old reference point: (new-old)/old × 100. Percentage difference compares two values without a clear 'original' — it uses their average as the denominator.

Question 2

How do I calculate percentage discount on a price?

Accepted Answer

Discount Amount = Original Price × (Discount% / 100). Final Price = Original Price - Discount Amount. Example: 20% off $80 = $80 × 0.20 = $16 discount → Final price $64.
