About the Crypto Portfolio Tracker
Track a crypto portfolio without an account or an exchange connection. Enter each coin with the amount you hold, your average buy price and the price now, and see the value of every holding, its profit or loss in money and as a percentage, its share of the portfolio and the totals for everything together.
The holdings are saved in this browser, so they are still there next time. Prices are the ones you type, which keeps the tracker private and lets you value coins on any exchange or at any date.
How it works
Each holding's value is the amount times the price now, and its cost is the amount times your average buy price. Profit is value minus cost, and the percentage is profit divided by cost. A coin's share is its value divided by the value of the whole portfolio.
If you bought the same coin several times, add a row for each buy with the same name. The rows are combined: the amounts add up and the average buy price becomes the total cost divided by the total amount, which is how exchanges report a cost basis.
Coins received for free, such as airdrops or staking rewards, can be entered without a buy price. They count at a cost of zero, so their whole value shows as profit and no percentage is given.
Assumptions and limits
- Prices are typed by you; the page doesn't fetch live prices.
- Include any trading fees in the average buy price if you want them in the cost.
- Amounts can have up to 8 decimal places, like satoshis for Bitcoin.
Worked examples
Two coins
0.5 BTC bought at 40,000, now 60,000, and 2 ETH bought at 2,500, now 2,000: worth 34,000 on a cost of 25,000, a profit of 9,000 (+36%), with Bitcoin 88.24% of the portfolio.
Buying twice
0.5 BTC at 40,000 and 0.25 BTC at 52,000 combine into 0.75 BTC with an average buy price of 44,000.
An airdrop
100 tokens received for free and now priced at 0.80 are worth 80, all of it profit.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the profit on my crypto?
Multiply the amount you hold by today's price to get its value, multiply it by your average buy price to get the cost, and subtract the cost from the value. Divide the profit by the cost for the percentage gain or loss.
How is the average buy price worked out after several buys?
Add up what each buy cost (amount times price) and divide by the total amount of the coin. Enter each buy as its own row with the same coin name and the tracker combines them for you.
Does the tracker show live prices?
No. You type the price now for each coin, so nothing is fetched from an exchange and no data about your holdings leaves your browser. That also lets you value a portfolio at a past date or on a particular exchange.
Is my portfolio data private?
Yes. The holdings are kept in your browser's local storage on this device and aren't sent anywhere. Clearing the site data removes them, so use the CSV export to keep a backup or move them to another device.
Does this work out my crypto taxes?
No. Tax rules for crypto differ by country and often depend on each individual sale, matching rules and holding periods. The tracker shows unrealised profit on what you hold today, which is not the same as a taxable gain.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. What you enter or upload stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
